As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2003, homeowners are now eligible for a 30% tax credit up to $1,500 if they purchase a qualifying entry door or window.
How do I get the credit?
- Purchase and install a qualified product from 1/1/2009 to 12/31/2010.
- Save the sales receipt and the NFRC performance label that is attached to the door.
- Claim the tax credit when you file your 2009 or 2010 taxes as directed by the IRS.
The details:
- The tax credit is for the product only and does not include the installation costs.
- The maximum credit is $1,500 combined for tax years 2009 and 2010 and includes other eligible products.
